Preserve Recycled Razors

We've been very successful at eliminating disposable plastics from our kitchen, lunchboxes and outings, but we still seem to have a lot of plastic waste piling up in our bathroom trash bins. Disposable razors are a big problem. They're cheap. And I never really think about them much until I throw one away. I've been meaning to find a greener alternative for a while now, but for some reason or another, it always gets bumped to the bottom of my to-do list.

Until I find an affordable, completely plastic-free razor for every member of our household, I decided to switch to Preserve razor handles and disposable replacement blades. It doesn't really solve the problem, but it will help to reduce the amount of plastic that goes into the trash.

Everyone in the family now has their own razor in a unique color. When it becomes dull, the blade cartridge simply snaps off and can be replaced with Personna blades which I can easily find locally. Both, Preserve and Personna are cruelty-free and do not test their products on animals :)

Preserve razors are made with recycled yogurt cups and are completely recyclable after use, although they are sturdy and should last for years if only we can remember not to throw them away like we would with disposables.

Note: Preserve double and triple blade razor handles are exactly the same size, so replacement blades are interchangeable.
